Gua poem: "Harvest - divination about a mare": it is good to divine about a mare.
"Friends" or "money" are the same character.
"Probing": moving leisurely, like water flows, probing the flow with a stick.
The bottom line of hex.2 warns for the moment when things end - and its image is hex.24, the moment of return. Winter is the moment of return of the year, the old ends.
Stepping on hoarfrost is an expression about the timing of a marriage.
Line 2: the way of the earth is wei wu wei: doing without doing. The corresponding line in 7 is the leader who leads by being in the middle of the army: by his mere presence.
Line 3: your abilities lie in what you are, not in what you show. Its fanyao hex.15 talks about doing without personal aims.
Line 4: what you decide, or if you decide anything at all, is entirely up to you, it depends on what lives in you. The corresponding line in 16 talks about the germ of motivation, where everything comes from.
Line 5: the king who does not "be king" but serves the people. Hex.8 is about cooperation among all territories of the state.
Top line: about the troubles of struggling - and hex.23 about making peace. There are several meanings to the colors, most important one being yin and yang.
'Black means also mystery, so black and yellow can also mean mysterious or invisible, and shining or visible. Another meaning of black or yellow blood: exhausted.
