Guà Jìng - Yáo Ying

Hexagram Mirrors - Line Reflections
(line pathways)

Mirror group 09.3-61.3-10.4-62.4

When things exceed, truth shows

09.3 yang: The cart loses an axle pad. Husband and wife turn away their eyes.
When things are tough, people turn against each other. (forget dreams)

61.3 yin: Captured by the enemy. Some drum, some freeze, some weep, some sing.
When things are tough, people show their core.

Lines 09.3 and 61.3 are each others fanyao, like views on the same landscape but from a different side, Heaven-Lake and vv. Asking for different actions.

10.4 yang: Stepping on the tiger's tail. Panic, panic. The end is auspicious.
Exceeding times are valuable lessons for how to act.

61.4 yin: The moon is almost full. One of the pair of horses gets lost. Without fault.
When things exceed among partners, truth shows and one leaves.

Lines 10.4 and 61.4 are each others fanyao, like views on the same landscape but from a different side, Heaven-Wind and vv. Asking for different actions.

Lines 09.3 and 10.4 and also 62.3 and 62.4 are each others qianyao (upside-down). Here are similar actions but in different landscapes (complementary contexts).
What was up, outside or mental, is now down, inside or physical.

Mirror groups 09.3-61.3 and 15.4-62.4 are contrasts
(all yang lines of Mirror 09.3 are yin lines in Mirror 15.4 and vv)
Mirror 09.3 is about when things exceed, a lot becomes clear
Mirror 15.4 is about when things come together, they need balance and boundaries.
